Sauvignon remains the most mysterious of the great white grape varieties, which are described as international.

This is not true for Sauvignon, whose name, similar to Savagnin, Savagnou or sauvage, defines it as autochthonous or indigenous. This is where the mystery begins, because our country has found different origins for it.
