Château Prieuré-Lichine

With a complex plot of land spread over different sectors of the appellation, this cru is gradually becoming a benchmark for attentive observers. The new vat room allows for plot-based vinification, giving each plot its own chance, and the viticultural choices inspired by the estate’s consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt, explain the quality of the latest harvests. The wine has all the expected finesse and grace, in an immediately perceptible form and the prices remain reasonable.

  • AOP Margaux, Château Prieuré – Lichine 2010. Great floral nose, very elegant and refined wine, worthy of the vintage, long aftertaste, perfect Margaux for keeping. 95/100

  • AOP Margaux, Château Prieuré-Lichine 2015  Complete expression of the cru in a great vintage, harmonious nose, full-bodied, very just ripeness (no “decadent” elements) of the grapes, ample texture, tasty tannin, already long and complex. 96/100

  • AOP Margaux, Château Prieuré-Lichine 2019. A great success, with a colour and intensity that are rare in this cru, which does not hide a superlative aromatic finesse that places it among the very best Margaux of the vintage. With the expected floral type and freshness on the finish. Peak around 2031/2034. One of the best value for money of the vintage. 94/100
