Château d’Agassac

Domaine. This gravelly vineyard is one of the largest in the Sud-Médoc, covering 40 hectares. Bought out by Gérard Jicquel (also Fourcas-Dupré), the château produces four quality cuvées, all of which are fruit-forward and modern in style, tannic but not heavy. Agassant, made from 90% Merlot, is a rounder cuvée, intended to be drunk young. The ‘tête de cuvée’ of Château-Pomiès-Agassac is a highly refined wine. L’esprit-d’agassac is very flattering, and this charming, well-balanced grand vin is a must.
