Domaine. Founded in 1998 by Terry and Mary Peabody in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak, Craggy Range is a family-owned winery in the wine-growing area of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The winery-owned estate vineyards sit on stony, warm and sandy alluvial soils of Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay, that are ideal to produce high quality red wines including Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and on volcanic, clay-infused and limestone soils of Te Muna Road in Martinborough, that are perfect for Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. These special soils and unique climates produce wines of exceptional character with amazing aromatics, purity and complexity. Excellence is at the heart of Craggy Range and the Peabody family is focused on becoming one of New Zealand’s leading producers that can rival the world’s greatest estates. Judging from the quality of their single-vineyard cuvées, they’re well on their way to achieving that ambition.
