Eric Morgat
Domaine. Originally from Layon, Éric Morgat produces a savennières from very low yields, picked ripe and matured in wood. He is looking for roundness rather than the incisiveness of Chenin, on his organically-farmed terroir. Recent vintages have seen a change in style, with more straightforward wines, and 2010 is a model of the kind in its quest for purity. The white Anjou, from a plot bought in 2002 in the Pierre Bise sector and planted in 2003 on spilite, produces a Litus cuvée with a lot of tension. B+D
