Parusso

Domaine. The estate dates back to 1901 when Gaspare Parusso bought his first vineyard, a plot in Mariondino, in the village of Castiglione Falletto, in Piemonte. In 1925, the family acquired the Rovella farmhouse, in Bussia hamlet of Monforte d’Alba where their cellar now rises up above the Rocche vineyard. In 1971, Gaspare’s nephew Armando started to bottle his first Barolo wines under the Parusso family label. In 1986, Armando’s son Marco, a young oenologist, supported by his sister Tiziana, decided to turn the family business around by starting to bottle the entire production. Today, Parusso manages 28 hectares of vineyards sitting on limestone, clay, chalky marl and sandstone throughout the Barolo region, in the municipalities of Monforte d’Alba and Castiglione Falletto. Focusing on native grapes of the region, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo, Parusso’s style is terroir-driven wines of innate elegance and finesse, fresh and approachable in their youth yet with great capacity to age well. In 2019, Giulia, Tiziana’s daughter and Francesco, Marco’s son joined the family estate, paving the way for the 5th generation. B+D.
