After seducing the world with his Arrogant Frog cuvées, Jean-Claude Mas dreams of making the Languedoc as strong a reference as the great wines of the world
It all began in 2000 in Montagnac. Jean-Claude Mas, 36 years old, trained at a business school and MBA, created the Paul Mas estate from the 17 hectares of the family property. The Languedoc wine market was going through a crisis that would last for about ten years. With too high yields, a lack of creativity and practices that were not inspired by its larger neighbours (Bordeaux, for example), France’s leading wine-producing region was groping for its way forward.
