The renewed interest in the wines of the northern Rhône valley is illustrated, among other things, by the return to the forefront of the wines of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, the largest (by size) among its sisters in the Southern Rhône region. If the immediate proximity of this AOC to the Hermitage hill has not failed to establish its reputation, it has somewhat overshadowed its complex geology, which is nevertheless rich in specifics to promote its terroirs.
